» Cap. Gown. Done and dusted ♡ (I graduated!)
Wednesday, November 29, 2023 | 7:43 PM | 0 love letter(s)

27th November 2023 was a day of immense happiness and pride for me and my family. I graduated from one of Malaysia's top universities, Universiti Sains Malaysia. Yep! It took me four years of hard work, sweat, and tears to achieve this milestone. All praise to Allah! There is so much I want to say but more importantly, I just want to express my gratitude to my loved ones including my friends for their unconditional love and never-ending support that has made it possible for me to reach this precious day. To be frank, my degree years have been filled with many challenges. I was struggling with my unstable mental health, admitted to a psychiatry ward, and I even lost some people whom I used to treasure so much. But just as the saying goes, there will always be a rainbow after every storm. I managed to get back on my feet and I bloomed beautifully afterwards.

Alright! The most important part of this post is yet to come! I typically don't post pictures on my personal blog, but this time I will just post few of them to commemorate my biggest accomplishment this year. YES! You are free to take a look ૮꒰ྀི⸝⸝> . <⸝⸝꒱ྀིა

Convocation outfit deets!
For my convocation outfit, it cost me around RM700. My dress is from one of the leading muslimah brands in Malaysia, Leeyanarahman. Their Masyitaa collection has captured my heart! Wearing a soft-pink outfit on my convocation day has always been my dream. I bought my Masyitaa Doll kurung for RM380. As for my heels, I got them from My Ballerine for approximately RM160. I initially contemplated purchasing my heels from Charles and Keith or Christy Ng, but none of their designs caught my attention. Still, I am very happy with the purchase I made from My Ballerine. The heels made me feel like a princess as I walked on stage to receive my degree scroll with the sparkly design. Last but not least, my cotton square scarf! OHHH I would be lying if I said I did not get confused between choosing a square scarf or a shawl. Thankfully, I ended up wearing a cotton square from Bawal Exclusive (Bawal Qaseh collection). It looked great with my mortar board on and the shape was perfect throughout the day. Not exaggerating, but Bawal Exclusive scarves are always easy to put on. The price is also justifiable for the lightweight and soft fabric. I bought mine in mauve chalk colour for RM210.

Pre-Convocation outfit deets!
My pre-convocation dress is from Puspita Abadi. I have always wanted to try their satin Korean dress and it looked pretty on me! I bought it in maroon colour for RM150. Next, my RM20 chiffon silk shawl *omg*. It is from Zoe Arissa. The most affordable yet beautiful chiffon silk shawl I have ever purchased for myself (and I am considering buying a different color soon). Moving on!!! For my pre-convocation outdoor photoshoot, I was wearing the Ala Bimbang dress. It is Sabahan's traditional attire for the Bajau ethnic group. Ok, just want to let you guys know, the Ala Bimbang dress is quite famous for its expensive price in Sabah, which could range from RM700 to RM1000 if bought from a boutique or any traditional clothing shop. However, in my case, my Ala Bimbang dress is very special to me because it was made by my grandma's hands, not by machines. YES, all those sequins and pearls were sewn by hands. Tell you what!!! When my boyfriend (who was also my photographer at that time) took my pictures, many people were mesmerized by my dress and I could not be more proud of it
